Q: What can I expect and what’s expected from me?
A: This is a convening of thought leaders and influencers in the child welfare space. Our hope is that you will come with a willingness to share, network, think, learn, and connect. We will eat great food, worship together, talk about current realities and hear from leaders in this space. We will provide an opportunity for leisure time to connect with your spouse or others in attendance. All that’s expected from you is to bring your curiosity and willingness to connect in a community of like-minded others who care deeply for vulnerable families and children.
A: Check-in begins as early as 4:00 pm EST on January 14, 2026. Please join us for a light snack and welcome at Retreat Lobby. Dinner will be served from 6:00-7:00 pm and our first session together will begin at 7:15 pm. The Collective will conclude at noon on January 16, 2026, at noon. A complete agenda will be sent to participants closer to date.
Q: What about travel arrangements?
A: You are responsible for making your own travel arrangements. Click here for more information.
Q: Are lodging and meals provided?
A: For this meeting, both lodging and meals are provided at no cost to you. Our delicious, southern-inspired meals are provided for groups and individuals as part of the total collective package. Our dining facility does not operate like a restaurant, though we can make accommodations for dietary restrictions. Let us know if you have restrictions or certain needs when you RSVP, so we can prepare to serve you well ahead of time.
Q: Are children allowed at WinShape Retreat?
A: We love children, but we believe our retreat environment is best suited for adults. Therefore, no infants or children under the age of 18 are permitted.
Q: What should I pack?
A: Dress is casual for this gathering. We also recommend packing warm comfortable clothing and walking shoes so you can enjoy the surrounding 27,000 acres of wilderness during the break times. There are 9,000 acres of hiking and biking trails to enjoy. It is best to dress in layers during winter as it can often be windy and cold on campus.
Q: What amenities are provided in each room?
A: All of our rooms have king-sized beds and are fully stocked with linens, an alarm clock, private bathroom with shower and dual-sink vanity, hair dryer, facial and bath soap, body lotion, shampoo, bottled water, iron and ironing board, and a Bible. We offer media-free rooms without TVs or telephones to promote a truly sequestered environment free from common distractions.
Q: Are there accessible rooms or elevators?
A: Accessible rooms are located on the first floor, but stairs are needed to reach second floor rooms, and there are no elevators. Let us know in advance if there are any special accommodations required for your stay.
Q: Is smoking or alcohol permitted at the retreat center?
A: Alcohol, cigarettes and other smoking devices, and firearms are not permitted on the property.
